To apply a new base shape to a form

Select the Apply New Base to Form tool.
Identify the shape that becomes the new base shape for the form to be modified.
Accept the base shape selection.
Identify the form to be modified.
The form regenerates using the selected base shape.

Note: Linear, arc, and line string forms are regenerated as free forms when the base element is a shape.
